Rhynchostylis is a beautiful orchid that produces breathtaking and long flower clusters. The colors of the flowers are usually pink, red, purple or white, and there are also a lot of varieties that are fragrant. This tropical plant requires a bit more attention and likes to grow in a lot of indirect sunlight.

Although the care of this species can be a bit spicier at times, you will be richly rewarded with beautiful exuberant blooms.

The Rhynchostylis is similar in growth habit to the Vanda and the Aerangis. all like air movement and high humidity. Moreover, these three orchid genera are also often kept as hanging plants in a basket without substrate. In particular, what makes the Rhynchostylis different from the Vanda, for example, is its speed of growth. In fact, the Rhynchostylis grows a lot slower than the Vanda. And they are much less able to withstand too much bright indirect or direct sunlight.

Several species of the Rhynchostylis are partly used for medication and against spasms, for example.

Many Rhynchostylis bloom in the winter months, spreading a present perfume.
